Chrissy graduated with a bachelor’s degree in music with a focus on social praxis from New College of Florida in 2010 and is completing her MFA in choreography and performance at Smith College. She has produced independent dance/voice works at Links Hall and Hamlin Park in Chicago and Light Box in Detroit. She makes both solo work and ensemble work for a variety of venues. Chrissy’s passion is building community through collaborative interdisciplinary process with artists of all backgrounds and ages.

Chrissy has performed with Sarasota Contemporary Dance, Muscle Memory Dance Theatre, Danielle Georgiou Dance Group, Dead White Zombies, Megan Rhyme Dance, BodyCompass Dance Projects, and Ayako Kato/Art Union Humanscape. She has performed works by Jeanine Durning, Jawole Jo Willa Zolar, and Jenna Reigel. Chrissy is an experienced dance and vocal improviser, a collaborator and solo artist who is as comfortable dancing with an ensemble on a proscenium stage as she does in a DIY setting with a mic and an IPad.

Chrissy is a certified somatic movement practitioner and trainer, which greatly informs her. She is an avid member of the global contact improvisation community and has been a facilitator and teacher in various locations throughout the Midwest. She has taught contemporary dance, contact improvisation, and conditioning for dancers at the undergraduate level, as well as social dance and social emotional learning skills to public school students in the greater Chicago area.
